Dear Fellow Brahman Breeders

What a great year!

We won the Kyabra trophy for the 18th time, as the most successful Brahman exhibitor at NSW shows. We also had major successes against all breeds as the most successful exhibitor at 2008 Guyra Centenary show and Maclean and Grafton Shows.

At the 2008 Sydney Royal Easter Show we won the Best Exhibit award and Grand Champion Female for the third year in a row with Mogul Miss I Wittlesea 2nd, last year's winner. Mogul Miss Fontenot 8th won in 2006. Mogul Valpery won Junior and Grand Champion Bull, and our Fontenot line again showed its class with Mogul Miss LC Fontenot, daughter of Mogul Miss Fontenot 8th, winning Reserve Junior Champion Female in a strong line-up of young females.

Semen is still available for purchase from Mr Fontenot 125.

It is not only our red cattle that are performing in the showring — our greys are also catching the judges' eye. Our 16-month old grey bull, Mogul Vigilante, was Junior and Grand Champion Bull at Guyra, Maclean and Grafton Shows.

In October 2007, Glen Pfeffer, our Manager, was elected a Federal Councillor of the Australian Brahman Breeders' Association (ABBA). In March 2008, Glen took his 25th show team to the Sydney Royal Easter Show. In recognition of his many years of service as Vice-President and Chief Cattle Steward, Glen was awarded Life Membership of the Maclean Show Society in April 2008

Well done Glen!

To cap off our recent successes, Mogul will be holding a Field Day on Saturday 21 June 2008, with guest speakers, technology displays and cattle for your selection on the day — see the enclosed flyer.

Please note that we will not be participating in The Land Northern Beef Week this year.

We invite you to inspect our exciting new fully-imported red embryo calves from the Dettering stud in Texas, USA. Our new line of poll grey calves will also be on display.

Our clients, including previous field day buyers, have been demonstrating the ongoing benefit of their Mogul purchases. Gai Evans of Inverell won Grand Champion Bull at the 2008 Inverell Show, the Wright family of Lawrence won Grand Champion Bull at the 2007 Lismore Show, and Reserve Junior Champion Bull at the 2008 Sydney Royal Easter Show, and Firefly Stud was awarded Junior and Grand Champion Female at the 2008 Gloucester Show. Congratulations on your successes!

We have recently introduced four new sires into our herd: Mogul Tesco, a poll red sire by Carinya M Red Icon; El Ja Data Axcess Manso, a grey by JDH Datapack Manso; Yenda K 12/7, a grey by JDH Mr Angelo Manso; and Lancefield D Warner 2758/D, a scurred red sire by Palmvale William.

George and Glen will be attending the 2008 World Brahman Congress in Fort Worth, Texas in May 2008, promoting our stud and looking for new opportunities and ideas.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Field Day on Saturday 21 June!
