Dear Fellow Brahman Breeders

Greetings from Mogul Brahman Stud after another year full of highlights and interesting events.  Demand for our cattle has been very strong and we look forward to continuing to be of service to our clients.

This year Mogul Patriot Manso followed on from the success of his half-brother, Mogul Oakwood, winning Reserve Senior Champion Brahman Bull at Brisbane Royal Show in August 2004 and Sydney Royal Easter Show 2005.  He was Supreme Exhibit at the New England Beef Show in Guyra in February 2005 and also at the April 2005 Kempsey Brahman Feature Show.  Mogul Patriot Manso also won his performance class at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.  Mogul Ranger won the other performance class.

Mogul Miss Skye Manso 2nd, a half-sister to Mogul Oakwood, was Senior Champion Female at Sydney Royal Easter Show and Kempsey Brahman Feature Show, and Grand Champion Brahman at the New England Beef Show, and Maclean and Inverell Shows earlier this year.

Mr Fontenot 125 progeny won the sires progeny group at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, and also at Kempsey and Maclean.  Mogul Regal was Junior Champion at Inverell and Mogul Miss Fontenot 8th was Junior Champion at Guyra, Inverell and the Kempsey Brahman Feature Show.

In November 2004 Glen Pfeffer and Dr George Jacobs attended the 12th World Brahman Congress in Merida, Mexico.  They saw an outstanding display of world-class Brahman cattle.  Several champions were sired by JDH Karu Manso, the sire of Mogul Oakwood.  It was a pleasure to meet and talk with North American breeders.  Both Glen and George have subsequently visited ranches in Texas, to observe the latest developments there.

On the local front, we were delighted with the response to our participation in “The Land” Northern Beef Week in June 2004, and will again be participating this year.  Our property will be open for inspection of a wide range of our cattle on Sunday 26 June 2005.

At our Open Day you will be able to see the first progeny of Lancefield D Kayle Manso and Kenrol Montana Manso, and also the wonderful progress of our Mr Fontenot 125 offspring.  You will also have a preview of our bulls to be sold at the Casino All Breeds Sale at the end of July and at the Grafton Bos Indicus Sale in early September 2005 and the Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale in October 2005.  Other grey and red bulls and females will also be available for sale on the day.

Mogul Patriot Manso will also be available for inspection on Open Day.  He is to be offered in the Select Sire Section of the Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale in October 2005.  In addition to excellent Breedplan data he has one-star tenderness and marbling ratings.

We look forward to seeing you at these events.
