                                                                                                                                 4 June 2017

Dear Fellow Brahman Breeder

Another productive year has passed. We continue to enjoy the benefits of our new property and community in the Casino district and visits from old and new clients around Australia and overseas.

Our Open Day for 2017 will be held on Sunday 2 July as part of “The Land” Beef Week in northern NSW. You will be able to inspect the 12 bulls we will be selling at the Casino All Breeds Bull and Female Sale on 29 July 2017 (Lots 154 to 165), and other Mogul cattle on display. Lot 162 is this year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show Senior Champion Brahman Bull, Mogul Eucalypt.

Mogul will be returning to the Rockhampton Brahman Week Sale in October and will be offering 4 grey bulls, which will also be available for inspection on Open Day.

We will also have on view and for purchase a select group of red and grey weaner heifers.

We have been delighted to build on our export relationship with New Caledonia. Our 3 bulls will be departing next week.

Glen joined a group of Australian Brahman breeders on a visit to the USA in February and March 2017, including the Houston Show and ranch visits in southern Texas.

This year we conducted a large artificial insemination program within our red and grey herds, using semen from a number of poll sires, as part of our emphasis on breeding more poll cattle. Several of the bulls were selected due to their success in last year’s Beef Information Nucleus (BIN) program.

Two of our sires, Mogul Yalumba and Lorimer Park Exodus, have again been recognised as trait leaders in the BIN program this year.

The first calves from our new grey poll sire, Token Ferrari, are very impressive. Several of these will be on display at our Open Day.

We are delighted to welcome three new sires:

Kenrol Sydchrome 2724 (H) [grey], Carinya L Rolo (AI) (ET) (P) [red] and Fern Hills Sahara 2932 (P) [red].

-2-

We are pleased with our ongoing Show successes.

Mogul Eucalypt won Senior and Grand Champion Bos Indicus Bull at the 2016 Nimbin Show, Senior Champion Brahman Bull at the Tenterfield Show in February and, as mentioned above, Senior Champion Brahman Bull at the 2017 Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Mogul was the most successful Brahman exhibitor at the 2017 Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Also at the Tenterfield Show, Mogul Ford was awarded Junior and Grand Champion Brahman Bull, Mogul Miss T Wittlesea 4th was awarded Senior and Grand Champion Female, and our Pair of Bulls won the Interbreed competition.

Mogul Franklin F312 [P] was Junior and Grand Champion Bos Indicus Bull and Supreme Beef Exhibit of the 2017 Maclean Show. Mogul Miss T Wittlesea 4th won Senior and Grand Champion Bos Indicus Female.

Mogul Franklin F312 [P] won Junior Champion Bos Indicus Bull at the 2017 Grafton Show. Mogul Frontier F256 [P] was Reserve Junior Champion Bos Indicus Bull.

Both of these bulls are poll and are the first progeny of Garuda Mr V8 Lexus to be  shown. They are out of dams by the Register of Renown sire, El Ja Budwiser Manso.

Congratulations to the Clark family of Staben Brahman Stud who won the Kyabra Trophy this year.

Sale Results

We were delighted with the results of the NSW Stud Brahman Female & F1 Commercial Female Sale held in Casino on 28 April. Mogul's unjoined stud heifers achieved the top price for both grey and red heifers - Mogul Miss GL Indy 2nd ($5,000) and Mogul Miss SP Wittlesea 3rd ($3,500), respectively. Two of the heifers went to the Wilson family from Balaklava, South Australia.

We wish you all the best in the coming year.
