INDIAN CATTLE

Dr George Jacobs visited the Western Ghats region of Southern India in December 2003, and observed Indian Zebu cattle being used as in days of old - as beasts of burden and to plough the fields.

In a village nearby there were cattle with painted horns - a remnant of the October annual religious festival.
